You can make a difference in your community by volunteering with Project Backpack! Volunteers are needed for community outreach, preparing backpacks and supplies, and assisting on the day of the event. If you are interested in getting involved, please use the form below to sign up for volunteer shifts.

Project Backpack 2026 Volunteer Information

The following volunteer shifts are available for Project Backpack 2026:

Community Outreach

Those who would like to volunteer on their own time can spread the word in their community by visiting local businesses and community centers to post or pass out flyers. Volunteers can pick up flyers from ECC and independently choose locations for outreach. Please ask permission from business owners and other appropriate authorities before posting flyers anywhere.

Packing Days

Volunteers will pack backpacks with school supplies and mental health kits.

Shifts:

  • Wednesday, July 29
    • 9 am to 11 am
    • 11 am to 1 pm
    • 1 pm to 3 pm
  • Thursday, July 30
    • 9 am to 11 am
    • 11 am to 1 pm

Event Day

Volunteers will be placed in stations throughout the event space. Possible stations include handing out tickets, directing lines, giving away backpacks, refilling supplies, etc. More information will be provided on the day of the event.

August 1 Shifts:

  • 7 am to 11:15 am
  • 10:45 am to 3 pm

You may select multiple shifts, but please know that shifts have limited slots. If you need to change shifts, you can contact Rick Green, volunteer coordinator at rgreen426@att.net.
